Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A toddler was among those injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – described by police as was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
