David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.
Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.
A spokesman for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.
The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Prolific Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in five dozen languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
