Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025's Golden Joystick Ceremony
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the esteemed Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's triumph, its gifted actors also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English won Best Lead Performer for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself received Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers won seven awards during the event.
Other standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only four awards—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by critics.
