Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the sports world had expressed sympathy for the champion in the following the devastating accident.
