Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield

A plane transporting the US defense secretary was required to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the jet's front window, according to an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.

"The jet touched down based on standard procedures and all passengers, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson said in a social media post.

The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to Brussels when the incident occurred.

This incident isn't the first occasion that a US military aircraft carrying a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.

Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to return to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical fault.
